Beginning in the winter of 2008, MC Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis linked up to create their debut EP entitled “VS.” Based off an idea to sample relevant, contemporary bands, the EP exposes Hip-Hop fans to genres they may be less familiar with, with the hope of appealing to hipsters (let’s be real). “VS.” re-imagines the sounds of Beirut, The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Arcade Fire and many more. The EP will be a completely donation-based release dropping at the end of November. “Otherside” (the first leak from the project) mashes big drums and orchestral pieces over Anthony Kiedis’ classic song about battling with heroin addiction. Macklemore now tells the story of Hip-Hop’s experience with drugs and a first person narrative about his own struggles with drug addiction and rehabilitation.

He has one solo show under his belt and preparing works for his second show entitled, “From Somewhere Else”. The exhibition takes a peculiar journey through curious landscapes and introduces bizarre characters. The overall theme of floating and weightless objects invites our minds to wander and drift, while exciting our own imagination and curiosity. Along the exhibition he will be releasing a book of all his work and the sketches that led him to his final pieces. I can see his style developing into a great 3-D cartoon.
The show opens at Gallery 139 in Adelaide, 26th November 09.

Our muse each season is an imaginary character by the name of Eddie Red. He’s a young NYC hustler from the mid ’70s. We begin every season with his imaginary guidance and fashion insight. This S/S 10 season takes inspiration from James Baldwin’s Invisible Man. We witness Red’s journey through a hostile city, meandering through his many obstacles and surviving through his anonymity. Its probably our most progressive season in terms of experimentation of fabrics. For spring we wanted something tough but still flowing and drape-y. Mercerized jerseys, 16gg sweater knits are accompanied by washed leathers and bleached denim. The silhouette remains strong and the neck line built high with an exaggerated slim bottom.

woke up with a ill taste in my mouth

Starting as a fashion editor, after finishing fashion school, for Mixte, Purple and Dazed and Confused without a doubt helped photographer Damien Blottiere see images in a different way than his peers. This is not to say that his style can be credited with working at those magazines but rather the undertanding of creating highly dynamic images that tell their own story. Blottiere is fascinated by the study of dimension, which you can seee in almost all his work. He creates his own paper/cardboard characters which become the set and often subject of his photo. Taking even the most simple of photographs Damien Blottiere cuts, pastes, plays with proportions and finishes with something absolutely fantastic. I am very inspired by the energy and sense of humor in his photographs. he is clearly someone who gets the big picture, a place where fashion meets art.

Bunny!!

A gigantic knitted rabbit is part of an art installation on a Mountain Hill (Colletto Fava, 1600m), above the Village of Artesina in Piemonte, Italy. The artists Gelitin (a team of four creatives) took five years to hand-sew the pink bunny, and they state it will be on display for the next 20 years

Its said to b there for 20 years
i will b trying to go see this one day
